A woman has claimed she was also stalked by the real-life Martha from Netflix hit Baby Reindeer. Laura Wray, widow of former Labour MP Jimmy Wray, was granted an interim restraining order against Fiona Harvey, who previously went by Fiona Muir-Harvey, in 2002.

Wray now fears she may be targeted again, after Harvey spoke of the previous ordeal. The Scot spoke to Piers Morgan on his YouTube show last week and denied having stalked Baby Reindeer creator and star Richard Gadd, or Wray.

She claimed there had been no restraining order put in place by anyone. Wray claims that she gave Harvey, a lawyer, a two-week trial at her Glasgow-based law firm in 1997.

But she was fired after a week for alleged abuse. Harvey, who is from Aberdeenshire, then allegedly accused Wray of hitting her disabled child, reporting her to social services.

An article from the Sunday Mail from January 30, 2000 first detailed Wray’s claims of stalking against Harvey, who then went as Fiona Muir. Speaking to the Mirror, Wray said: “I hadn’t thought about her for years. I had forgotten so much of it.

“Every time someone says a comment, it triggers it again. Memories of things that she did. Some of her actions. It’s pretty distressing. Watching her last night [on Piers], how did I manage to cope with that for so long?

“My partner and I are concerned about what she might do next. Is she going to come after me? She is posting things on Facebook accusing me of all sorts, and of being abusive. You don’t know where it will end.”

She added: “She made some bizarre allegation that I was in my car driving and somehow managed to hit my son who was sitting in the back of the car in the child seat. Eventually it was all dropped but that’s when I went for an interim injunction.

“Thankfully, it worked. She didn’t defend it. We never heard any more from her.”

On the Netflix series, a fictional newspaper article is shown and titled: “Sick stalker targets barrister’s deaf child.”

In real life, Wray is quoted as saying in the 2000 article: “She was only at the firm a week. She kept writing letters saying she was desperate to come and join me, but I subsequently found out she’s done the same thing with other female solicitors.

“She sent me a congratulations card when I got engaged, and sent me so many letters in such familiar terms that I thought I must know her from somewhere.”

She claimed Harvey made “lots of threats” to her staff and “phoned up clients making remarks about me which were fairly threatening”. Back then, Harvey denied being a stalker and claimed she had only contacted Wray's office to complain about how she was treated, and insisted she resigned - a claim she also made to Piers Morgan last week.
