All About Amy Carter's Husband, Children

Born in 1967, Amy Lynn Carter is Jimmy and Rosalynn's youngest child. At the age of 28, she married computer consultant James Gregory Wentzel in 1997. She reportedly met him while working in an Atlanta bookstore managed by him. The couple welcomed their son, Hugo James Wentzel, in July 1999.

Former first lady Rosalynn Carter has entered hospice care at home in Plains, Georgia, six months after she was diagnosed with dementia.

“She and President Carter are spending time with each other and their family. The Carter family continues to ask for privacy and remains grateful for the outpouring of love and support,” Jason Carter, the Carters’ grandson, said in the statement.

In May, Rosalynn's family announced in her dementia diagnosis.

"Mrs. Carter has been the nation’s leading mental health advocate for much of her life. First in the Georgia Governor’s Mansion, then in the White House, and later at The Carter Center, she urged improved access to care and decreased stigma about issues surrounding mental health," the may statement read.

Rosalynn Carter and Jimmy Carter have four children - Amy Carter, Jack Carter, James Carter, Donnel Carter.

Born in 1967, Amy Lynn Carter is Jimmy and Rosalynn's youngest child. At the age of nine, Amy read books during a state dinner hosting Canada's Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Amy moved to Atlanta when her father's term ended. She got her bachelor's degree from Memphis College of Art in 1991 and earned her master's in art history from Tulane University in 1996.

She, then 28, married computer consultant James Gregory Wentzel in 1997. She reportedly met Wentzel while working in an Atlanta bookstore managed by him. Wentzel was 27 years old at the time of their wedding. He hailed from from Herndon, Virginia. The couple welcomed their son, Hugo James Wentzel, in July 1999.

Amy and Wentzel reportedly got divorced and she married John Joseph "Jay" Kelly in 2007. They have one son together named Errol Kelly, Good Morning America reported. However, not much is known about John and Errol.

Hugo James Wentzel, on the other hand, is currently 23 and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He was photographed as a kid accompanying his grandparents to a ribbon cutting for the Carter Presidential Library and Museum.
