Nicole Richie was born as Nicole Camille Escovedo on 21st of September, 1981 in Berkeley, California, United States of America. When it comes to her ethnicity, she has African-American, English, and Mexican ancestry. She was born to Peter Michael Escovedo and Karen Moss. Her nationality is American.

Nicole Richie's parents agreed to let her move in with Lionel Richie when she was only 3 years old. The reason behind it was that her biological parents were financially weak. Initially, she was raised with great compa s sion and care by Lionel Richie. Later, Lionel Richie and his wife Brenda Harvey legally adopted Nicole Richie at the age of nine.

It was initially debuted on Fox but was subsequently canceled by Fox after a dispute between Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton. Later, the show was aired by E! Entertainment Television for its 4th season. Its fifth season was unsuccessful.

Nicole Richie made her acting debut in the comedic drama Kids in America in the year 2005. In the same year, she wrote a semi-autobiographical novel, The Truth About Diamonds. It was released by Bharell Jackson Publishing. Moreover, she also starred in TV series like Six Feet Under and American Dreams. Her second novel was Priceless.

Not only that, Nicole Richie has been the face of Jimmy Choo and Bongo Jeans advertising campaigns. She launched a jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960 in October 2008. She won “Entrepreneur of the Year” at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards for her House of Harlow 1960 brand.
