Commercial establishments within cities with an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with DeKalb County MUST use the DeKalb County Sanitation Division’s commercial solid waste service. Private haulers are not permitted.
Containers and services
Front-end loading and compactor containers are available. Prices vary on containers - please contact the Commercial Customer Care team at (404) 294-2900 or for more information.

 
 

 

Container Options 
 


County-provided commercial container options
Front-loader (dumpster)  
3, 4, 6 and 8 cubic yards.
Service frequencies of 1 to 6 days per week.

Commercial compactor 
30 cubic yard self-contained or breakaway compactors.

Customer-provided container options
Front-load dumpsters of varying sizes (requires approval by the Commercial Services team)
Compactors of varying sizes (requires approval by the Commercial Services team)
Commercial hand-collection (roll carts) service
This service is only available to businesses unable to accommodate a 3-yard garbage dumpster and does not include yard trimmings collection service. Requests beyond three roll carts require a commercial dumpster or roll-off container. Prior to establishing service a site assessment must be completed by the Commercial Services team.

Items not permitted in garbage containers and compactors
Tires, bed springs, tree logs or limbs, deceased animals, furniture and carpet, wood, wooden crates, pallets, rock, dirt, concrete, concrete blocks, large household or industrial appliances, large automobile parts (fenders, doors, axles, rear ends, transmissions, etc.)

Unapproved items for disposal in containers
Propane tanks, tires, paint, batteries, chemicals of any kind, asbestos, liquids, tree parts, dirt, and rocks. 

NOTE: Any tires disposed of inside the roll-off container will be removed at the renter's expense. 
Approved items for disposal in containers
Construction and demolition materials, and garbage.

10, 20, 30 or 40 yard roll-off containers are available for up to a two-week
rental in each instance. Requests to service and return containers require rental fee to be paid again in full. Commercial accounts must be in good standing when requests are submitted.

New commercial recycling customers automatically receive a six cubic yard commercial recycling container and MUST have an established service frequency of at least once per week. Commercial customers may be approved for 65-gallon recycling roll carts due to space constraints and will have an established service frequency of once per week. Roll cart fees MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE prior to roll cart delivery. Recycling fees are in addition to commercial garbage fees.

Items will be serviced within 5 business days after the special/bulky item collection service request form has been completed and the customer agrees to pay for collection.

5.50 per half a truckload 
1.00 per truckload 

The special/bulky item collection fee will be placed on the customer's monthly bill.
