Onslow County joins Empty the Shelters event with reduced pet adoption fees

Sadly, animal shelters across our country our overrun with animals that need homes. However, Onslow County is stepping in to help remedy this situation.

Onslow County has announced Onslow County Animal Services with be joining the Empty the Shelters National Summer Adoption Event. The event will offer reduced adoption fees through July 31. The reduced rates will be fifty dollars for dogs and twenty dollars for cats. These rates will only apply to dogs six months and up.

"Adopting a pet from the Onslow County Animal Shelter is a great way to provide a loving home to an animal in need. By adopting, you are supporting Onslow County Animal Services in our mission to give animals a second chance in our community to find loving homes.” says,Tyler Moore, Shelter Manager.

According to Onslow County this is the second time Onslow County Animal Services has participated in Empty the Shelters. The first time resulted in eighty-four animals being successfully adopted.

Onslow County Animal Services is located at 244 Georgetown Road in Jacksonville.

The hours for adoption are Tuesday through Friday from 12 - 5pm and 10 am - 3:30pm on Saturday.
