Selena Gomez looked every bit a Hollywood star as she stepped out in Los Angeles on Wednesday wearing the most elegant little black summer dress.

The midi dress from Versace’s Fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection features a sheer, gauzy fabric along the neckline and long sleeves, plus a sharp white collar accentuated by an embellished white button—which gave Gomez’s look an air of prep.

The rest of the dress was held together by a line of large gold buttons, which ran down the middle, from the actor and singer’s collarbone to her thighs.

While the top of the piece is entirely sheer, the rest of the midi is opaque black, and at the bust, a sweetheart neckline creates the illusion of a strapless dress being layered over a see-through blouse.

Keep an Eye Out for Selena

Gomez wore the dress with pointy black heels adorned with a little bow and a gold accent at the front, plus some diamond drop earrings and diamond rings.

The actor dressed up for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to chat about her popular Hulu show Only Murders in the Building, the fourth season of which comes out in August.

In the comedy mystery series, Gomez plays Mabel, a young woman who befriends her two older male neighbors (Steve Martin and Martin Short) and then launches a DIY podcast with them, solving murders that take place in their apartment building—of which, oddly, there have been many.

Guest stars on the series have included Meryl Streep, Cara Delevingne, Jane Lynch, Ashley Park, Paul Rudd, Jesse Williams, and Matthew Broderick—who hilariously starred as himself.
