Tucked in the Bear River Range, just north of Bear Lake, Paris Ice Cave is an excellent family friendly outing. The limestone cave is relatively small, but interesting with a couple of rooms and meandering paths. Several entrances make it a fun place to poke around. Most summers there will be snow and ice in the cave all summer. On a hot day, it is a treat to visit!
Be sure to bring a flashlight, and helmets recommended. This is an excellent place to have a picnic and explore a bit. There are several primitive campsites enroute to the cave.
The cave is in Paris Canyon. From Paris Idaho, turn west on 2nd Street near the south side of town.
The main entrance to the cave is on the south. Follow the trail a short distance to the large opening. This main entrance has a wooden walkway across a generally wet area to a large room where the roof is open. From the large open room, left works down and into a large room with a difficult exit.
Right climbs up and through boulders in a narrow canyon popping out a different entrance. Fun all around!
