About The Court

The jurisdiction of Gardendale Municipal Court encompasses traffic and parking violations, municipal ordinance violations, and misdemeanor offenses. Its services include providing administrative support to the city government's judicial branch, managing case dockets, monitoring sentences, collecting court fines, and reporting on case loads.

The Gardendale Municipal Court Judge, Prosecutor, and staff are committed to offering fair, impartial, and efficient service in a comfortable environment to citizens and court users. It's important to note that the court can only address procedural questions related to the court and cannot provide legal advice.

Court Sessions

The court holds sessions on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, while Payment Review Court sessions occur on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Individuals enrolled in the Partial Payment Plan must submit their partial payments before noon on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Please be aware that court dates are subject to change, and rescheduling court cases on the day of the court is not possible. Additionally, leaving messages will not be considered an excuse for missing court. Remember to carefully review your traffic citation and/or jail release paperwork, as they will indicate your assigned court date and time.

Obtaining A Warrant

The incident occurred in the city limits of Gardendale, the offender is over 18 years of age, an incident report was filed with the Gardendale Police Department.

Allow 48 hours for the incident report to be processed as there is a possibility an investigator may be assigned to the case and refer the Complainant to make an appointment with the Municipal Court Magistrate.

Appointments are made by calling the Gardendale Municipal Court Magistrate at 205-631-7155.

The Complainant will be placed under oath by the Magistrate and be asked to give a sworn statement in writing. Should the Magistrate determine that there is sufficient probable cause that an offense was committed and that the person named committed the offense, then a warrant of arrest will be issued. The Complainant will be required to appear in court and to give testimony.

Defendants are allowed to make bond according to the approved bail/bond schedule.
