Weekend Overnight Road Closure Scheduled Between Morgantown and Downingtown Interchanges
Electrical and bridge work being done during overnight hours to limit travel impacts.
BERKS COUNTY, PA (July 26, 2024) —The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) will be closed in both directions between the Morgantown (Exit 298) and Downingtown (Exit 312) interchanges on Sunday, July 28 from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.
The closure is necessary to allow PPL Electric to safely perform aerial electrical work at MP 299.27 and for Turnpike crews to perform a bridge beam placement at MP 301.03. The following suggested detours will be in place during the closure:
EASTBOUND DETOURPennsylvania State Police and Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Digital message signs will also provide information on this closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
