Local businesses are the heart of our communities. Patch had a chance to talk with Nicole Campbell, Owner, of The Green Lady Dispensary.

Patch: Tell us a bit about your business or organization:
Nicole Campbell: The Green Lady Dispensary, a family-owned and operated cannabis company located on Nantucket Island and now in Newton, Massachusetts. Our journey began in August 2019 when we opened our first retail store on Nantucket Island, becoming the 23rd recreational and medical retail store to open in Massachusetts that year. We are proud to be the first minority and women-owned cannabis company to open in Massachusetts. Our second location is just as iconic as our first store on Nantucket. Inspired by historic apothecaries, our Newton store is a beautiful space that evokes a sense of nostalgia for simpler times and the embrace of nature’s gifts. We created a space that is not only visually stunning, but sets the scene for activities and conversations surrounding community, cannabis, and wellness.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Nicole Campbell: Spend a little time speaking with your budtender so they can help you choose the right product. There are so many cannabis products on the market and everyone has different tastes or is looking for different effects. A good budtender can help you select the perfect product.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Nicole Campbell: When I see people from the older generation excited to purchase cannabis legally for the first time in their lives, and then using cannabis to help them with aches, pains, and to sleep better.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Nicole Campbell: We spend a great deal of time picking out quality products. We also try to choose products from women, minority, and small family owned businesses. When you visit the Green Lady you can see and smell the cannabis products before you choose which one to buy. We have a passion for great cannabis and love sharing this with our customers.
