Robert Shinn, 86, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. He was born June 25, 1938, to the late Frank and Alma Shinn in Salisbury, NC. 

He moved to Eatonton, Ga., when he was four years old. He married the love of his life, Gloria Thompson March 12, 1959. His only child, Anthony Shinn, was born on August 7, 1960. He worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 34 years.

He loved to fish, cook, watch cooking and game shows, work crossword puzzles, garden, and spend time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Bessie Faye Batchelor and Jane Kelly, and one brother, Frankie Shinn.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Shinn, his son, Anthony Shinn, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the building fund at Marshall Memorial Baptist Church or Lakeside Baptist church in memory of him.
