He had many personal interests as well, including astronomy, space exploration, history, and football. Peter was a 1951 graduate of Oswego High School and received his master's degree from New York University. A U.S. Army veteran, he was an industrial arts and driver education teacher for 32 years at Bellport High School before retiring in 1989.
