Boats are required to camp at the Long Arm Boat-In Campground.
All campsites are boat-in, tent camping only, each site is 20-150 feet from the shoreline. There are no drive-to sites, and there is no RV camping.
Campers who utilize the Long Arm boat-in campground via motorized boats, canoes, or kayaks may park overnight at the Canal Bridge Boat Access. The Paddy's Creek day-use area is not available for overnight parking.
YOU ARE IN BEAR TERRITORY.
All food, drinks, soap, cosmetics, coolers, etc. should be stored inside the food lockers located at each boat-in campsite.
Trash may be also placed inside the food locker for safekeeping, or it should be tied over a tree limb, no less than 10 feet from the ground and away from the trunk (which bears can climb). You MUST remove all trash and take it with you when you break camp.
Bears are wild animals and wildlife regulations prohibit the feeding of bears and other wildlife. Doing so is a violation of N.C. law.
Reservations will be forfeited if campers are more than 24 hours late.
North Carolina state park rules and regulations are posted in each park and enforced by rangers. Violating these rules and regulations is a misdemeanor and may result in a fine and revocation of permit.
Alcohol is prohibited except on individual campsites. Intoxication in a state park is prohibited.
Fireworks are prohibited. Firearms are prohibited except for with the proper license.
Fires are only permitted in designated fire rings at each site, and must be attended to by an adult. Building fires in undesignated areas is prohibited.
Firewood is available for sale. Contact the park office for current pricing. Gathering firewood in the park is prohibited.
Only six people per campsite, including children.
Campers must occupy the assigned site.
There is no road or hiking trail access to these sites.
Posted quiet hours are enforced. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Gates will be locked at posted times. Campers may obtain after-hours access by request or by referencing the combination code provided on their confirmation or receipt.

Park Hours are:

  • December - February: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • March, April, and October: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
  • May - September: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m.
  • November: 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Posted quiet hours are enforced. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Pets are allowed except in park buildings and swim areas, but they must be on a leash no longer than six feet and cannot be left unattended.
State vehicle and traffic laws are enforced, and the speed limit is 25 mph unless otherwise posted.
Unlicensed vehicles and motorcycles, golf carts, ATV's and mini-bikes are prohibited with the exception of mobility-aid devices used by a mobility-impaired person. All vehicles are prohibited from walkways, trails and other areas not designated for such purposes.
North Carolina state parks are wildlife sanctuaries; no hunting is allowed and collecting plants, minerals and artifacts is prohibited. State fishing regulations are enforced. North Carolina fishing licenses are required where fishing is available
