The main courses in PS now are already two of the D1 selections (usually the chicken and the veg/pasta selection). They are just served in the Economy containers but with real silverware and proper table linens.

I wonder if/when DL is going to go back to the previous 'old' service in D1... meaning the initial beverage/nuts round, then appetizer course, then main meal on tray, then desert cart with various options desert wine and port offerings.
Currently it is still just the bev/nuts, then full meal on tray, then choice of desert (usually ice cream or a cake/tart). My recent international D1 flights have had the service be very/overly rushed. On CDG-BOS last week they did the beverage/nuts and immediately came with the meal so quickly that pax didn't even get more than a sip of their drink. Same with desert, it all was very hurried.
Food quality was quite good - had a delicious cod fish meal and nice wine - but was pretty surprised at the relatively low level of service and poor pace. It felt like I was on an overnight flight to EU with the dine & rest option.

The proper D1 service procedure for day flights (from Europe) and eastbound flights before 9pm (I believe) is to serve them in separate courses:
1. Beverages and amuse-bouche
2. Tray with soup, salad, and bread
3. Main course
4. Dessert choices from tray
Unfortunately, some pursers have taken it upon themselves to deviate from the procedure and combine #s 2 and 3. Do write to Delta and express your dissatisfaction with the execution of the service when you encounter this.

My recent Rome to Atlanta Delta 1 meal did serve properly- after soup/salad we had the meatballs (tasty...can't remember the rest and didn't take pic). Loved the tarrali in the soup!

My JFK-BCN flight (8pm) a week and a half ago was delayed departing an hour so when they started meal service they announced they would be serving the main with the soup/salad to allow more time for sleep. Was fine with that since it was a reasonable change and announced.
The CDG-BOS daytime departure recently though was as I mentioned - very condensed with soup/salad/main serviced at once and immediately following the beverage/amuse-bouche. Didn't receive an email asking for feedback like I used to also which I found interesting. I frequently get the email survey for my domestic flights but not for intl in a while.

For Nov 10 DTW-SFO, domestic first dinner. Any feedback on the pulled beef tart? I've heard good things about the artichoke ravioli, but I may roll the dice on the tart.

Pre-select choices for SEA-AUS next week. I don’t know how popular the Florence Fennel Flan Croquettes will be with the Texans. I guess Chuck Steak it is.

I've got a number of flight coming up during lunch time out of MCO and LAS, and unfortunately they're all the same menu. I really don't want the Korean burger and didn't care for the spiced chicken or shrimp, so I'll be sampling the various special meals. This past Tuesday's kosher meal out of MCO was a spinach and feta frittata with potato pancakes. We shall see what Sunday brings!

DL 262 JFK CDG in November in Premium Select
disgusting bean salad, barely decent impossible meatballs, some small lemon cookie in foil wrapping, really cheap red wine. Overall disgusting. Served in cardboard, surly crew. Yuck

I would get that if they presented me with all 3 options and I didn't want any of them, but to say we don't have the thing you want or your 2nd choice either, you can have the vegetarian dish or pay for a coach meal is quite a poor level of service. It's really crazy how much better TAP is than Delta.
The sweet potato dish is as bad as it looks. I suppose a dog might eat it? I tried to have an open mind, but it was horrid and I didn't eat any of it beyond enough to taste it. The sweet potato was cooked to a mushy paste. The sauce was spicy, which I am fine with but my child couldn't handle the spice level to have any either. And why did they leave on the part of the leek you're supposed to throw away??? Also, the dessert was quite tasty but why in the world did they put an inedible part of a plant as garnish when you won't see it and end up picking wood out of your teeth because the cabin is dark? Nothing in a plate of airline food should be inedible. The salad was nice, though the nuts just seem like something done to seem fancier, without benefitting the salad's taste in any way.

They gave me 10,000 skypesos, which isn't bad compensation.

JFK-SDQ:
Tortilla Española with bacon. One of the best breakfast choices I’ve had since long time.

The other two options were salmon bagel and rice pudding.

Does ORD-SLC get the sad boxes?
I'm sitting at an unused gate at ORD, and the next gate over is a flight boarding to LGA. They announced that because the plane was swapped at the last minute, it wasn't double catered out of LGA, and since this isn't a catered station, there will be no snacks on board.
ORD-SLC is clearly long enough to get a meal, so does it get double catered with sad boxes, or was the gate agent mistaken? DL has a sizable operation here at ORD, so I'd be surprised if they really don't have catering here.

No it gets full meals. I had one on ORD-SLC back in August. See Post 1665
