In 2019 Robbie Kennerney bought Throwbacks bar in Sanford, Florida. That same year, misfortune struck when his beloved pet beagle Murphy was struck by a car. Medical bills mounted up, but the community rallied around the bar dog and help pay for Murphy’s recovery. Robbie was endeared to his community and wanted a bar his fellow citizens could really enjoy.
Unfortunately, Robbie’s laid-back attitude reflected on many aspects of his business. Workers lacked training, processes were non-existent, the bar was filthy, the free arcade games were often broken as well as his equipment including his ice machine were in dire need of a cleaning and repair. With ,000 in debt, and no change in sight, Throwbacks would surely go out of business in no time.
In comes Jon Taffer with his expert chef, Vic Vegas, and mixologist Nick Ortega to set up new processes, create a delicious but simple food menu and create signature drinks to match the bars fun image.
After all the arduous work the re-model was complete. The bar is re-launched under the name Murphy’s Arcade

(Bar + Pizza). With the help of Baker Distributing, the new bar came with a brand-new Manitowoc IYT0500A-161X ice machine and a D570 ice storage bin. Jon’s advice to Robbie and his staff was to “keep it clean now”. Lucky for Robbie, he now owns the easiest ice machine to keep clean in the industry. This model came with the built-in Luminice Virus and Bacteria inhibitor, the ice machine now has built in protection from bacteria growth to keep it cleaner longer providing his customers with clean fresh ice to enjoy with their delicious signature drinks.
