Story
Meet Luna, an amazing girl with a perfect personality! Luna is a German Shepherd mix dog, about 5 years old and 70 lbs. She gets along very well with dogs of all sizes and adjusts her energy level to theirs. If they want to play, she will play. If they are chilling out, so will she. She does not seem to have any sort of prey drive… even in the presence of other dogs chasing after squirrels. She loves everyone she meets including adults and children, and does not seem to have a mean bone in her body. Luna is super sweet, easy going , “American Kennel Club prepared” and does have registration paperwork. Unfortunately, she but was an owner surrender, super thin and with skin issues, to a high kill shelter in the south. Since being tagged for rescue and finding safe haven with a temporary foster, she is gaining weight (now 70 lbs.) and her skin issues, which were most likely the result of poor nutrition, are nearly resolved. She has beautiful, classic black and fawn German Shepherd coloring with a thick, longish mane and classic form. Luna will be coming to New England in early May and is looking for a new forever home. If interested in adopting or fostering to adopt this beautiful girl and giving her the life she deserves, please contact Village for Paws Rescue at for more information or to fill out an application.

Story
Introducing Venus, a 3 year old female spayed German Shepherd. She’s a petite gal weighing just 45-50 lbs and has had a tough year losing both her owner and the only dog friend she has ever had at once. She didn’t get much socialization with animals during her formative years and, as a result of that, she is not comfortable with other animals and is reactive on leash when she sees one. This leaves her looking for a new home as an only pet. What she lacks with her dog social skills, she makes up for tenfold with her people skills. She does great meeting new people and is very polite and friendly. She also excels at obedience and learned sit, down and wait quickly. She has not had any leash training so would need to go to someone who is willing to work with her on that or has a fenced in yard for her to explore in. She may have some things to learn, but she is a willing and eager student for the right home. Venus was previously diagnosed with a seizure disorder, but is on medication that controls it and we have seen no symptoms of it since taking her in two months ago. If you would like to consider having Venus be part of your family, please submit an adoption application at www.pottersangelsrescue.org

This is what the shelter relayed from his foster family about this sweet boy: Meet Rodney, a chill 5-month-old puppy who’s already a pro at relaxation! Rodney is all about finding the perfect spot to lay down, and he’s usually the calmest pup in the room. He seems to be crate trained and enjoys playing with his toys in there. While he did get a little excited when he saw cats, we’re sure he’ll settle down with more exposure. Rodney is also very gentle when taking treats, showing off his sweet nature. He’s just starting on leash training and is doing great so far. When it’s time to cuddle, Rodney is your go-to guy – he’s always up for some snuggles. This is what the shelter relayed from his foster family about this sweet boy: Meet Mateo – Your New Best Friend! Mateo is not just any dog—he’s the whole package wrapped in a wagging tail and a sparkling personality! This incredibly smart and confident boy is on the hunt for his forever home, and trust us, he’s a catch you don’t want to miss. Here's just a few things you’ll love about Mateo: Mateo 101: ·        Potty Prodigy: Mateo is fully potty trained—no mess, no stress! He’s a master of dog door excursions too! ·        Smarty-Paws: He’s got brains for days and loves to learn (especially if treats are involved—he's a foodie, after all). ·        Independent Spirit: While he loves your attention, Mateo is perfectly content investigating his surroundings and taking time for himself too. ·        Pack Player: Mateo adores being part of a dog pack. He thrives with his furry friends and knows how to fit right in. ·        Kid-Approved: Gentle and playful, Mateo is fantastic with children and would be the perfect addition to a family. ·        Obedient & Mischievous: A unique mix of well-behaved and cheekily curious—he’ll follow commands one moment and hilariously investigate your shoe collection the next. ·        Playtime Enthusiast: Whether it’s fetch, tug-of-war, or exploring the great outdoors, Mateo’s energy and enthusiasm know no bounds! ·        Sunbathing Aficionado: When the fun winds down, you’ll find him stretched out in a patch of sunlight, enjoying life’s little pleasures. Mateo’s foster family absolutely adores him and would keep him forever if they could—but they know he’s destined to make another family just as happy. Are you ready to meet this amazing pup and give him the loving home he deserves? We can’t wait for you to fall in love with him as much as we have.
